Step 1: Create Your Account

  1. Visit Our Homepage: Go to www.masauctions.co.za

2. Create an Account: Click on the ‘Create Account’ link at the top of the homepage.

3. Check Your Email: You will receive an activation email at the address you provided. If you don’t see it in your inbox, please check your junk or spam folders.

Step 2: Log In

  1. Log In: Once your account is activated, log in using the link provided on the homepage. (If you are already logged in, you will see an “Unauthorized” message.)

Step 3: Register for Auctions

  1. Find Your Auction: Navigate to the auction you want to participate in and click on ‘Register for this Auction.’
  2. Complete Registration: Read the important information, tick the box to confirm you agree to the terms and conditions, and fill out the registration form.
  3. Pending Approval: After submitting, your registration will be reviewed. You will receive a confirmation email once you are approved.

Important Information for Registration

To register for bidding, you will need:

  1. Refundable Deposit: The amount varies by auction, and only instant EFT payments are accepted. Cash and card payments are not allowed.
  2. FICA Documentation: This includes your ID, proof of address, and company documents if you are registering as a business. Refer to the registration pack for specifics.
  3. Bank Details for Refunds: Bank details will be emailed to you, or you can view them on the website.

Step 4: Bidding on Timed Online Auctions

What is a Timed Online Auction?

A timed online auction has specified start and end times. You can view asset photos and descriptions before bidding. If a bid is placed in the last minute, the timer will extend by one minute.

Bidding Methods

  1. Incremental Bidding: Click the “Bid “button to place a bid that is one increment higher than the previous bid. Your bid status will update if you are outbid.
  2. Autobids: If you have a maximum bid amount in mind, enter it, and the system will automatically bid for you up to that limit. If another bid exceeds your limit, you will be removed from the bidding.

Managing Your Bids

  • Starring Lots: You can star lots you are interested in, similar to a watchlist. This feature allows you to easily manage and view the items that matter most to you.
  • Every lot you place a bid on will be automatically starred, and you can also star lots without bidding.
